Rachael Milligan, founder of Little Leaf Studio
I trained as a conservator for four years at the London School of Picture and Frame Restoration, after graduating from the University of York with a degree in the History of Art.
I have worked with oil and acrylic paintings on a variety of supports. I use traditional techniques and materials wherever possible, employing methods of minimal intervention to conserve artworks in a manner that is reversible and sympathetic to their construction. I have worked with carved, plaster and composition gilded frames and studied gilding techniques such as water and oil gilding on various substrates and gilding on glass.
I have established Little Leaf Studio as a space to share some of my conservation knowledge, creating the opportunity for anyone to explore these astounding traditional techniques. Having spent much time searching for an economical, functional and flexible space to hire for workshops, it is of great importance to me that this creative space should be available to all artisans who might be searching for the same thing.
Little Leaf Courses
I run regular courses from the studio. Please book online or contact me for further details. Dates are limited to four participants to ensure quality contact time. Special arrangements can be made for groups.
